Chiao's nutritious rice

Adding different grains to your rice will enrich the flavour, texture and nutrition!

Ingredients

  • Swedish Naked Oats (G)

  • Millet (G)

  • Whole grain rice (G)

  • Red rice (G)

  • Black rice (G)

  • Other options: red lentils (G), 3-color quinoa (G) or Swedish quinoa (G) would work wonderfully as well!

Method

  1. Mix your favourite grains from the above list as you wish. It should make up 1 cup of uncooked grains

  2. Soak the grains that take longer to cook first. For instance, black rice, red rice, and brown rice

  3. Add the mixed grains to a cup of regular white rice

  4. Add 2 cups of water

  5. Cook everything evenly in a rice cooker or pot

  6. When done, sprinkle with some toasted black sesame seeds and pine nuts - they make it even tastier!
